Predoctoral training
MANTP has five predoctoral training slots that are two years long. Graduate students in the program are generally in their third and fourth year of their PhD studies and can come from any graduate program working with MANTP faculty trainers.
Predoctoral students receive cross-disciplinary training to develop research skills, core competencies in nutrition and metabolism, and professional skills to prepare for the spectrum of careers in nutrition-related sciences. One predoctoral slot is dedicated to training a PhD as an RDN.
Postdoctoral training
MANTP has four postdoctoral training slots for PhD, MD, and MD/PhDs that are three years long. Postdoctoral training emphasizes nutrition knowledge, research approaches, manuscript and grant writing, and career development.
One postdoctoral slot is dedicated to training a physician-scientist. MD trainees receive a minimum two-year program of research that is integrated with their residency training programs to impart the knowledge, skills and experience required for successful careers as physician-scientists.
