Advancing knowledge at the nexus of food and nutrition
The Department of Food and Nutritional Sciences works to address challenges at the intersection of food, nutrition, sustainability, and health. We empower researchers, students, and partners to advance knowledge and influence economic and human wellbeing.
The department offers complementary educational programs in food and nutritional sciences for undergraduate and graduate students. Students have opportunities for experiential learning, and graduates are prepared for careers in food manufacturing, nutritional guidance, food safety, human health, and more.
Faculty collaborate across campus and beyond, and the department coordinates community engagement and outreach programs. Short courses are offered in state-of-the-art facilities and provide training on a range of food development and safety topics.
