UW–Madison’s Department of Food and Nutritional Sciences partners with industry leading programs throughout the country so you can obtain both a world class education and dietetic internship at the same time. Acceptance into the programs below will help further your journey to becoming a registered dietitian nutritionist and give you a strong foundation in clinical nutrition, setting you up for a successful career.
The following programs all require a Didactic Program in Dietetics Verification Statement.
Partnership Programs
- Located in Madison, Wisconsin
- 15 months to complete graduate degree with supervised experiential learning
- Program concentrations:
- Medical Nutrition Therapy – Adult
- Medical Nutrition Therapy – Pediatrics
- Lifestyle Medicine and Community Nutrition
- Performance Nutrition
- Located in Richmond, Virginia
- 20 months to complete DI and MS
- Start dates in January or August
- Live anywhere during the first year of the graduate degree
- Program Concentrations:
- Medication Nutrition Therapy
- Community Leadership
- Sports Nutrition
- Located in Rochester, Minnesota
- 15 months to complete DI and MS
- Program Concentration:
- Medical Nutrition Therapy
- Located in Minneapolis, Minnesota
- Complete MS Clinical Nutrition (15 months), followed by Dietetic Internship (10 months)
- Must be U.S. citizen
- Provides stipend of ~$25,000, which is paid throughout the course of the internship
- Eligible for health, vision, and dental insurance during your time in the internship program
Early Admission Partners
- Locations throughout the U.S.
- ~18 months to complete graduate degree with dietetic intnernship
- Fall and spring cycles
- After graduation, start your career in a clinical or management position
