
Elsie grew up in a small town in Northern Minnesota. She has always had a love for food and the “whys” behind cooking and baking, so exploring the realm of food science felt like a natural fit for her. Her goals is to help make food more accessible and sustainable through her career, which is why she worked to get the certificate in Sustainability, in addition to a certificate in Fermented Foods and Beverages.
The food science program offers so many opportunities to explore different aspects of the field, such as lab experience, internships, product development, working in the dairy plant, and so much more.
